O'Mac Construction is one of the largest building contractors on the Isle of Lewis. We operate an apprenticeship programme in a range of trade disciplines including carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, and bricklaying. We have also recently offered apprenticeships to a scaffolding and quantity surveying trainee. Apprenticeships will vary as business requirements dictate.
As an apprentice you learn your trade on the job, working towards a nationally recognised qualification while you earn.
Our apprentices enjoy a combination of practical, on-the-job, learning and first class teaching. You will receive day-release college instruction to build and develop your skills, working on-site as soon as possible, putting your training into practice under the careful mentoring of an experienced tradesperson.
As well as gaining recognised qualifications, developing valuable skills and earning a good wage, you will be on a permanent contract with paid holidays. And when you have finished your apprenticeship, we have a guaranteed job waiting for you.
We are looking for self-motivated people. We want people who take personal responsibility for everything they do, and who will help us grow our business by contributing to improvements and innovation, however big or small.
As an Equal Opportunity Employer we are committed to promoting diversity in our workplace and ensure that we maintain an environment where all employees can develop to their full potential.
If you are interested in becoming an O’Mac Construction apprentice, or if you already have some industry experience and would like to develop your skills with us, please email your up-to-date CV to firstname.lastname@example.org, marked for the attention of Anne. We will reply to you as soon as possible.
